Play to Learn Early Learning Centre is committed to making each child’s transition to school as easy and stress free as possible. We believe that children can transition well to school with the support of others they know and trust.
Your child’s first school experiences shape their interest in learning. A positive start to school can improve your child’s attitude to school and their achievements- both social and academic.
At Play to Learn we believe children learn best through play and we have incorporated this in our transition to school programme.
Children have the opportunity to learn through their interests and we develop their knowledge and strengths based on this. Our transition to school program for our four year old children is run at a set time each day (9am) to coincide with the school time. During this time we cover a specific focus, which we change fortnightly. We cover areas such as colour recognition, self-help skills and recognising and writing their own name.

Chris and I have been so happy with how well our son has settled into care at Play to Learn. The transition was made so smooth for him with all the teachers. My son looks forward to attending (sometimes in the holidays asking when we will be going back to kindy) to do a range of exciting activities including art, carpentry, baking, sand play, music and movement and early literacy.
I really like the attention they put on the 4 year old program learning letters, numbers, name recognition as well as preparing the children for school.
The teachers at Play to learn are so friendly and approachable and open to discussing any concerns or problems I have had and they are open to feedback and when necessary they implement changes. Play to learn has become an extended party of my son’s family and somewhere he feels safe and cared for by all teachers in either room. We are very grateful to have found Play to learn and to have had such awesome teachers for our son. Lucy – March 2014
