To help our local families with this, we have extended our child care opening hours and now accept children from 6.45am. We hope this will help families with parents who do shift work or have to start work early, by allowing them the chance to get to work on time safe in the knowledge that their children are being well cared for by experienced and reliable staff.
We offer care for children from birth to school age and can cater for 10 under two-years and 30 children aged over two, per our licence from the Ministry of Education. We run a mixed-age centre because we believe that children flourish when they are allowed to develop relationships with a range of other children. However all our infants and toddlers have a primary caregiver so they develop a close relationship with one member of staff.
We work closely with our families to create routines for children at the centre that are similar to their routines at home, so enrolling your child for early morning childcare should not disrupt their morning routine. We have individual cots and bedding for children to sleep in, so if your child needs a little extra rest when they arrive in the morning, that will not be a problem.
We also cook meals on-site which are offered to all full time children and cater to individual dietary needs if required.
We know that early starts and shift work can make it hard to find time for visiting the centre, so we have secure online learning portfolios that detail your child’s time at the centre and their development, allowing you to catch up when you are able. Our open-door policy means you can come and spend time at the centre whenever you can, and stay for as long as you wish.
Our early morning childcare drop-off is available for a full day, half day, short days and extended sessions. We accept WINZ subsidies and 20 hour subsidies for 3 and 4-year-olds.
