Ministry of Education | Education Review Office
“Parents and their children are warmly welcomed into the centre. They enjoy a strong sense of belonging and they are supported by the respectful, caring relationships they experience with staff and peers. Māori culture, language and identity are valued through positive and affirming interactions. Children and their parents/whānau benefit from a holistic, caring and supportive environment.
Babies and toddlers experience relationships that are nurturing and supportive. Teachers are respectful of each child’s individual rhythms and preferences. Key teachers work with parents and whānau to create a settled environment for these very young children. Babies and toddlers are well catered for, free to explore and learn in meaningful social and cultural contexts.
Children are confident learners. They trust adults to nurture their sense of self-worth and be responsive to their needs, interests and strengths.
Staff have a wide range of skills, expertise, knowledge and experience, which they bring to the centre.”

We are always greeted by smiling teachers who welcome us every morning. The children are happily engaged in numerous activities and we love seeing stories on Storypark. It makes it alot easier leaving your children when you know they are in great care. Play to Learn has been very accommodating and flexible with our working arrangements and we really appreciate it. Teachers are very supportive when it comes to things like toilet training, changing babies routines and so on. As parents of three boys who all attend the Centre we can highly recommend Play to Learn.

Your teachers are excellent, always keep the line of communication open, and I am thoroughly impressed at my son’s progress since starting at Play to Learn.

Thanks so much for all the effort the Play to Learn team put into the holiday programme. Ciana loved it. Its a long year for some of the children and doing something different in the holidays makes a nice break for them.
Thanks and enjoy your pj day tomorrow!

Our whole experience at Play to learn has been very positive. There is a very open line of communication between the staff and parents. Everyone is treated with respect and greeted with a smile in the morning. The centre also offers lots of flexibility to suit my child’s needs and also mine as her parent. What a great place for your children. Big thanks you to the dedicated teachers.

Chris and I have been so happy with how well our son has settled into care at Play to Learn. The transition was made so smooth for him with all the teachers. My son looks forward to attending (sometimes in the holidays asking when we will be going back to kindy) to do a range of exciting activities including art, carpentry, baking, sand play, music and movement and early literacy. I really like the attention they put on the 4-year-old program learning letters, numbers, name recognition as well as preparing the children for school. The teachers at Play to learn are so friendly and approachable and open to discussing any concerns or problems I have had and they are open to feedback and when necessary they implement changes. Play to learn has become an extended party of my son’s family and somewhere he feels safe and cared for by all teachers in either room. We are very grateful to have found Play to learn and to have had such awesome teachers for our son.
